FREAKquency Noir® Est. 2021
FREAKquency Noir is an avant-garde musical production chronicling the sub and counterculture renaissance of Black and African LGBTQ+ creative provocateurs pushing the boundaries of sound
Established in 2021, F҉R҉E҉A҉K҉quency Noir® began as a conceptual documentary dedicated to spotlighting progressive and experimental Black and African LGBTQ+ creative provocateurs pushing the boundaries of sound. Over years of thoughtful development, it has evolved into a music multimedia platform designed to showcase marginalized voices within the Black and African diaspora and LGBTQ+ community. Focused on the alternative spectrum of music and the arts, FREAKquency Noir delivers premium, unique, and dynamic storytelling, celebrating innovation and amplifying underrepresented narratives.
MANIFESTO
FREAKquency Noir is a “WE” centered platform, not a “ME” centered platform. In this space, no one is a side character, a main character, or placed on a pedestal—whether they are a represented or non-represented artist within their respective field. FREAKquency Noir acknowledges that every creative equally offers unique and valuable talents to share with the world.
We do not work or collaborate with creatives who operate from a place of self-interest, ego, superiority, or competitiveness. FREAKquency Noir does not function from an energy of lack. Instead, we actively cultivate a reciprocal and safe space where creatives—especially those from marginalized communities—can share, collaborate, and experiment with ideas and visions. Here, everyone amplifies each other’s voices and shines together.
FREAKquency Noir is dedicated to curating unique showcases for artists and breathing life into meaningful projects. At the core of our initiative is a deep respect for mutual creative peers, both within and beyond our communities, networks, industries, collectives, institutions, and businesses. We uphold a no-nonsense policy, taking the livelihoods, experiences, safety, beliefs, voices, and creative works of all parties involved with FREAKquency Noir seriously.
FREAKquency Noir is committed to redefining the ethics, values, and integrity of how the arts, entertainment, and music industries are approached, navigated, and conducted. If a creative’s beliefs, behaviors, choices, communication, lifestyle, actions, or inactions are, or have the potential to be, harmful to themselves or others, FREAKquency Noir will immediately terminate any contracts, communications, and associations.
FREAKquency Noir embodies a new era of arts and entertainment—one that champions authenticity, the cutting-edge of experimentation, innovation, creativity, greatness, and collective progress. We create spaces that align with the vibration and vision of trailblazing pathways for all of us to thrive and lead richer, more impactful lives. Anything that does not resonate with this initiative has no place within the FREAKquency Noir creative ecosystem.
